ROCKFORD, Ill. - Above Average Mike Sanders gave the morning weather report without flaws -- or facts, for that matter.
A former college basketball player, Mark Jindrak watched the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics battle it out in a preseason game -- and fantasized about what could have been.
Sean O'Haire joked around with a local newspaper reporter, though his joke ostensibly struck more
than an ounce of fear in the pencil-pushing scribe.
The NBT trio visited Rockford last weekend when tickets went on sale for the Nov. 27 Monday Nitro, to be held at the Metro Centre.
The Natural Born Thrillers had a loaded weekend, starting Friday morning with a live appearance on the WIFR (Channel 23) morning show, with hosts Aaron Wilson and Keri Henthorn. After joking
around with Wilson, Sanders stepped forward and offered the weather report. "Partly cloudy, mostly sunny," Sanders said without hesitation.
Next the guys made stops at area radio stations, including: WZOK, with Steve and Stef; WROK, with
Len and Gene; WXXQ, with Steve and Lynn; WYHY, with Sky Drysdale and WXRX, with Captain Jack.
Friday afternoon, the Thrillers visited Milbury Trucktown and Performance Audio for promotional gigs.
That night was the Bulls vs. Celtics game -- and plenty of autograph signing for Jindrak, who was spotted courtside during halftime by hundreds of youngsters.
Saturday's schedule featured a morning autograph session and an evening appearance at the Rockford Ice Hogs minor league hockey game; Sanders dropped the ceremonial "first puck."
